Our transportation fleet

Vehicles selected for access, comfort, and safe travel.

National Transit plans a modern fleet to support ambulatory riders, wheelchair users, recurring appointments, and longer medical trips.

01

Wheelchair-accessible vehicles

Accessible vehicles may include ramps or lifts, wheelchair securement systems, occupant restraints, and space designed for safe boarding. Vehicle availability and compatibility must be confirmed for each trip.

02

Ambulatory vehicles

Ambulatory vehicles are intended for riders who can enter and exit independently or with the limited assistance arranged for the trip. Vehicle selection considers route length, passenger count, mobility devices, and comfort.

03

Fleet standards

  • Clean, professional presentation
  • Routine maintenance and issue reporting
  • Functional seat belts and restraints
  • Climate-controlled passenger areas
  • Clear boarding and exit pathways
  • Required safety and securement equipment
  • Trip-appropriate vehicle assignment
04

Information we need about mobility equipment

When requesting a wheelchair trip, share the chair type, whether it is manual or powered, approximate dimensions when available, rider and chair combined weight if relevant, and any unusual boarding needs. This helps determine whether an appropriate vehicle is available.
