Hospital Discharge Transportation

A coordinated non-emergency ride from the hospital to home, rehabilitation, assisted living, or another approved destination.

01

Transportation designed around the rider

Hospital Discharge Transportation should feel organized, respectful, and predictable. National Transit takes time to understand the rider’s mobility, pickup environment, destination requirements, appointment schedule, companion needs, and return-trip plan before transportation is confirmed.

Our role is transportation—not medical care—but we recognize that the quality of the ride can affect a person’s comfort, confidence, and ability to access important services.

Planning the trip

A discharge estimate is not the same as being ready to leave. The facility should confirm actual readiness, mobility level, destination access, who will receive the rider, and whether belongings or a companion will travel. National Transit does not provide stretcher or medically monitored discharge transportation.

Please share accurate pickup and destination information, the requested arrival time, mobility needs, whether a companion will travel, and whether a return ride is needed. Our team will review availability and confirm the final trip arrangement directly.

05

A respectful, non-emergency experience

Drivers focus on courteous assistance, safe vehicle operation, clear communication, and the rider’s dignity. National Transit does not provide emergency response, clinical monitoring, stretcher transportation, or hands-on medical treatment during the ride.
